About Us

Mission & Vision

To engage and inspire the next generation of global citizens through the art of letter writing to animals in service of world governments. By fostering dialogue through these unique nonpartisan ambassadors, Domestic Paws seeks to create a "Diplomatic Pause" that encourages empathy, historical understanding, and more fertile ground for international peace.

To create a world where young people from all corners of the globe are empowered to dialogue on complex global politics and history with ease, building lasting bridges of communication that honor the "Special Relationship" and expand the same openness & collaboration to every nation.

Our history

Sir Winston Churchill & The "Special Relationship":
Winston Churchill officially coined the term "Special Relationship" at Westminster College,
Fulton, MO, in 1946, to describe the close cultural and political bond between the UK and the
US.
He believed this alliance was the "cornerstone of world peace" and was himself the son of an
American mother and British father.
Churchill was a devoted animal lover, often using his pets as a source of comfort and a bridge
for personal connection during his long career in diplomacy.

Our Founders

Jesse & Arizona Jane Sandys:

Elementary school students based in Houston, Texas, and the only American-born descendants
of Sir Winston Churchill.
As great-great-grandchildren of the legendary statesman, they carry forward a family legacy of
leadership and international bridge-building.
They are the owners and companions of Spooky & Lil' Biscuits, the first Domestic Paws
ambassadors (to the United Kingdom from the United States).

Jonathan Sandys (In Memoriam):
A world-renowned author and international speaker dedicated to the legacy of his
great-grandfather, Winston Churchill.
A scholar of the "Special Relationship," he authored God & Churchill and spent over a decade in
Houston communicating the values of courage and integrity to young audiences.
He believed a firm grounding in history was vital for future generations to ensure past mistakes
are not repeated.

Sara Sandys:
A native Houstonian and
mother to Jesse and Arizona Jane, she continues to support her children's mission to make
history and global education interactive and accessible.
